Every year on (or close to) the shortest day/longest night we host the Walk in the Park in the Dark, this year it's on Saturday June 18th. A community stroll around some of our great walking tracks while the Rarangi Surf Lifesaving Club prepare hot food and drinks for the returning walkers. All walkers get a certificate and the proceeds from the sale of food and drink all goes to fund Lifesaving for the coming summer. We start and finish at the Rifle Range carpark at the foot of the Wither Hills, see you there from 4pm on the 18th, watch here for more details.
We finish our winter solstice celebration with a fun fireworks display and apart from the food and drink (which you can choose to buy or not) there's no cost to participate in the great family activity. Thanks to Marlborough District Council for enabling us to put this event on.

We've partnered with event management legend Peter Yarrell (the man who brings you the Tour of New Zealand cycle event) to deliver the iconic Queen Charlotte Classic multisport race. Programmed for November 12th we'll be offering the traditional run/paddle/cycle event as an individual, team or relay event. For those looking for a bigger challenge, get ready for the Queen Charlotte Classic Rogaine, a run/paddle/mountainbike event incorporating off-track navigation, check points, team canoes, mountainbiking and some interesting heights to be scaled. You won't get the course until briefing on November 11th and you'll need a team of three so start planning now. Peter will still be onboard with us ensuring the continuation of the unique character of this great event, make sure you join us.
